Francesco Grossi added new listing CMBRIDGE for GIT in Dimensions CM
Bridge Dimensions from any past, current and future IDE, as well as build tool, by mapping Dimensions categories into the GIT URL (with a REST service translating request and forward them CM. To reach... all DEV people without scaring them with CM interfaces and categories, Serena made a wonderful job with SVN Bridge, still in few years - if not months - the youngest of them would have scarce if not any knowledge of SVN: new developers goes straight to GITHUB to have their code available everywhere, particularly outsourcing companies developers. I reckon our DEV TEAM would have to cope with two levels GIT deliver (COMMIT and PUSH) as well as other non mappable categories/functionalities Yet, once we might set prerequisites – for example - in terms of CM configuration (I am just imagining : set a CM with single PARTed-PRODUCTs and couple them with GIT REPO of the URL) we could offer CM everywhere Not to mention any future product equipped with a GIT plug-in, would be ready to go with our CM (and no excuses for Developers, not anymore). More emphasis in the Desktop Client about PULSE features, such to entice the user,  by labeling functionalities as more appealing (graphs stats, collaboration, branches from here..). This is my experi...ence here. We at this customer site have JIRA and GIT gaining ground by the day People keep using 14.1 as they used 12 and, in the meantime, they ask for GIT and JIRA integration as such collaboration and audit needs arise, as the agile dev is getting cool by the day. Hello I would like to propose a(t least) new item into the context menu of folders and streams which has the same effect as the “Open Review” item nested/hidden in the “Changeset Dialog”'s Changeset Context Menu Here with 14.1.04 people are completely unknowing the existence of PULSE  This leads to another problem: as people need to collaborate they look for other solution such as GIT, for merge, and JIRA for workflow, furthermore they complain of CM not being integrated with JIRA. I would simply put this new item in the folder and stream context menu, labeled as something more intriguing such as "graphs, statistics, collaboration, branches from here..". The effect of this option would be the same as “Open Review” on the last version of the folder/stream, hidden into the folder changeset dialog. So no new functions need to be written, People simply and eventually would land in PULSE and discover Change Graph and ... The still keep using 14 as 12 and ask for GIT, JIRA.... So why don’t we give more emphasis on what’s under the hood of CM14? Moreover, as we acknowledge the presence of old metadata why don’t we show a dialog offering the user a walk thru the new functionalities? Many thanks for this opportunity More

Programmers could tag their changesets release with external URL, thus allowing cross reference between modification and external workflow products or other related Changeset Documents This is a reque...st coming from the field: developers. Scenario: Programmers working with JIRA, thus creating bugs, notes non bug, todo lists, would like to tag their deliver comment with reference to their JIRA activity. This should be cheap to provide as it is about to: 1) (optional) to allow user to insert a URL in comment , a reliable one, with a URL navigation button to insert HREF link into comment, as many as developer likes (if not possible then the user would copy and paste the link) 2) (mandatory)  the filtered changeset search for comment, which already is in place, would recognize URL and allow the user to click on it (drill down to the document/JIRA/JenkinsJobOutput/whatever associated with the modification) Developers could link/justify their modification by relating it to activity documented by external product/file, even when those products are unknown to DimensionsCM. So it would be a great effect for integration with a minimum cost. Hope this would be voted :-) More

Provide a method to start the Deploy service without having to stop/start the Dimension Listener. Or provide a notification that the Deploy Service failed to connect to the DB when the Listeners is s...tarted. Possibly send notification to Admin Group When Deploy fails to connect to DB the first notification we get is a user saying that Promote and/or Deploy actions are not running. More

Windows Explorer shell extensions - Associate with Source Control Dialog - Possibility to search for Design Part you want to associate folder with. When associating a windows folder with a Stream/Proj...ect you can also specify Design Part as well as Request. For the first is not possible to look for its name (you have to remember it by heart or look for and copy it from other clients). More

    25/08/2016 CMBRIDGE for GIT
24/03/2016 More emphasis on PULSE functionalities in the GUI (people look for GIT and JIRA if they don't know of PULSE))
11/12/2015 Great Integration Impact at minimum cost: 1) insert URL navigation button in the DELIVERY comment to link to external milestone, bug (JIRA/Jenkins output/...) 2) changeset list recognizing URL in comments and enabling click on it
10/06/2015 Design part selection dialog missing from windows explorer shell extensions
