Historical Activity Streams Hot

Add the ability to create views of historical activity based on custom filter parameters.

  • Add a new type of report which allows the selection of filter parameters, relevant fields, and time frames to provide an aggregated view of change history across groupings of Serena items. The simplest way to think about this would be the Facebook Activity Feed. JIRA also provides a nice example of this (see attached screenshot). The use case for this is a project manager, team lead, or individual participant seeking to view a summary of changes to items in a set of workflows that they are monitoring, without having to search through e-mails or other notification channels, compare static versions of reports, or go through individual items looking for changes.

  • This would be very useful. Your example is perfect. We also have a need to give PM's a broader view of tasks related to a project or to an item. Often those tasks exist in multiple, unrelated solutions within SBM.

The Backlog view added in 10.1.4/5 can help accomplish this broader view. I'm looking forward to exploring that. Hopefully, that functionality is just the beginning.

I like this. It's similar in concept to the Social view for an item. Essentially I get to see what's going going on in my project recently. Dimensions CM introduced something like this with Changesets and I use it all the time.

Hi Brock - Yes, similar the Social View but with the capability to configure it using custom selection criteria as to what fields and other types of changes an individual is interested in following. It would also be helpful to integrate a more modern UI such as the "Facebook" paradigm (which this very community site uses) than the current Social view.
