better Null handling in listing reports Hot

by John Hastings-Kimball on November 07, 2016

I'd like the additional ability to specify how null values are handled when sorting listing reports.

  • As a report writer in SBM, I want to be able to specify how null values are handled when choosing fields as sort keys in a report definition so that I can more easliy build reports that are more meaningful and require less post-creation manipulation.

Ideally, I would like to be able to have four sort values instead of the two that appear now. These options would be:

    1. Ascending with Nulls First
    2. Ascending with Nulls Last
    3. Descending with Nulls First
    4. Descending with Nulls Last

This enhancement would prevent the admin team from building a workaround by adding in "dummy" values to force a report to sort in a particular order,  or additional fields that were set programatically that could be used as a different primary sort key.

    Thank you
    John

  • As i re-read this, i'm going to propose six sort options. Add Ascending with Nulls Excluded and Descending with Nulls Excluded
