Automatically apply role preferences to new users Hot

by Adrian Turuianu on April 18, 2017

we have created some groups and set some properties (i.e.: set some visible pin-ups, set not visible the "All" pin up).
When we create new users, they do not inherit the properties and the settings of the group. (In this case they still see the "All" pin-up). To work around, temporarily, we refresh the group, changing a flag and re-setting it again; this way, it works. Unfortunately, we cannot do this manually, because every day users could be created and we cannot do such steps automatically.

  • Unfortunately we cannot ask the customer to do such steps every day, in production environment, when new users are created.
I fear that this could be a serious issue for the customer.
Is there a standard way to refresh the group from background, maybe a web service?
Alternatively, is there a parameter in the standard web service that creates users, that automatically refresh the group?

  • Which version of SBM are you currently using? The behavior you're looking for I believe we delivered in 11.2. We added a new section when managing a group in Application Administrator to directly set this for groups and is applied automatically.
