All fields to be used as values in Transition Field Overrides Hot

by Paul Thompson on May 09, 2016

The default value of a field in a transition field override can be a constant, a  pre-defined selection or, in the case of integers or dates, a calculation.  Expand on this by allowing text, selection and relational fiels to be set to the value of a calculation or another field.

  • During a transition, if a text field "A" must be set to the value of some other field "B", the current solution is to use AppScript.

    In the effort to reduce AppScript, allow a field to be set to the value of some other field.  Optionally, allow a field to be set to the return value of a simple expression (AppScript?  JavaScript ??  Groovy???) .  The existing "curly brace" syntax could be used to specify field names:

    Override field "A"; set to calculation:

    {Field B}

    or

    UCase("{Field B}")

    or

    Mid(Ucase("{Field B}"),7,32) & " incident"
