When adding Nodes have the ability to assign these to a single base database or multiple base databases Hot

When there is a Dimensions CM system containing several base databases and there is a requirement to have Nodes specific to particular base databases, provide the ability to associate nodes(physical and logical) to a base database or multiple base databases.
  • When there is a Dimensions CM system containing several base databases and there is a requirement to have Nodes specifically accessible to particular base databases only, the current architecture of the database tables within Dimensions CM do not facilitate this requirement because the node list presented to a user defining a work or deploy area is a global list of Nodes.

To enable the definition of work and deploy areas within a base database that will select nodes from a list specifically related to that base database, it would be desireable to have the ability to associate a Node(both physical and logical), when created, to a base database or multiple base databases.

This would have the advantage of reducing the list of Nodes presented to the user/administrator defining the work and deploy areas and would reduce the risk of one base database having a work or deploy area defined referencing a node not related to it. Admittedly risk is mitigated by the Node User ID and password entered because if these credentials are not known connection to the selected Node is not achieved.
