Login and Logout Audit Report

  • The System Administrator needs an auidt report which provides the following details

    1.  User Id

    2.  Login Time

    3.  Logout Time

The audit report must provide filter criterions which enables the System Administrator to search by

    1.  User Id

    2.  Login Time (From & To)

The audit report must be exported in Excel format.

The System Administrator would need to schedule this report on a recurring basis (day, weeek, month)

  • if you add a
    merant.opt
file into your Serena License Manager installation directory
    with this line in it:
    DEBUGLOG +D:SerenaSLMlogFile

a logFile will appear and record all license check in/out operations with the timestamps for every user that logs in/out of your hosted Serena applications.
It may not be the prettiest of formats for what you may be looking for, but the data is there.
In my case, I created a Java program that parses these check in/out licenses to determine how many hours/min/seconds users are using my hosted Serena products for any time frame. I store every check in/out operation in a data table and link those in/out operations to their respective users in a Users table.
